Warrington scrapyards

Anyone know of any?

I was told there's one behind the FIAT wharehouse but I couldn't find it, stumbled across a skip hire place instead.

Anyone got any ideas?

Cheers,

Roger Melly.

Well that would make sense, saves transport costs and all.

Hickmans, down Athlone road.

Opposite where the Halfords retails park is.

Also, the one near the Fiat place. From town on wickick road A49 Turn left at the 10 pin bowling towards Asda/Ikea, then almost straight away turn right.

Take next road on left and follow it round curve until it goes NSL. On your left are some units. The end unit has a dirt track just before a motorway flyover type bridge. Turn down there. It is a very rough track under the small railway bridge, up the small rise, the scrappy is under the flyover on your right. Winwick motors I think it is.

In news: snipped-for-privacy@g47g2000cwa.googlegroups.com, snipped-for-privacy@yahoo.com decided to enlighten our sheltered souls with a rant as follows

Best Scrappy near Warrington is Jackson Street in Haydock - 01744 730088. Ok it's a 20 minute drive at most, but it's a proper scrappy.

Thanks man, I'll have a look as soon as I get round to anything. As you say, it's only twenty minutes away. Nice one.

Did you ever see that jamie theakston narrated programme on traffic cops earlier on in the year, or maybe it was last year, and some of the stuff was filmed in Warrington?

Well, there was one bit where a brand new FIAT turbo diesel set fire to itself on the A49 right infront of the wharehouse. Uncanny.

(Wherehouse/Warehouse/Wharehouse/whatever. Mental blockage.)
