Wheels/tyres for an Rover SD1

Jan 30, 2006 7 Replies

I'm due for new tyres on the SD1 - it's an EFI with the 15" ones rather than the standard 14" of lesser models. ;-) The wheels need refurbishing due to normal wear and tear and some are also causing pressure loss. They're also a bugger to clean. So a reasonable budget.

I had the bodywork restored last year and it looks very good in its original colour - but now very shiny black.

So what I'm asking the illuminati here what wheels and tyre size they'd recommend?

Not worried about ride since it's terrible already.

It must, however, handle at least as well - preferably better.

No bodywork mods allowed.

Just something that looks good.

And easy to keep clean. ;-)

14 or 15 inch, wide and deep.

I'm with Steve on this one!

Any pics of the car so we can get a photoshop guru to give us an artists impression?

there was a fantastic looking blue SD1 on Ebay a while back - the wheels on that looked perfect, but my newsgroup history at work here isn't going back very far so I can't get the item number to see if it's still available to look at.

You definitely want to change the wheels and not refurb 'em ? I had a set of alloys blasted and powder-coated, £20 each and muck an brake dust just washes off with plain water...

Aye, revvies are the proper 70/80's wheel

Where? ISTR you're somewhere around south yorks and I need my BBSs doing.

Peateys (Peteys ? sp) not far from Leeds/Bradford airport, so a little further North ;)
