I wanna break 13.0...!

Yeah my buddy did the same thing to his car. The only pulleys he has is the crank, water pump and alternator. We had to take the tensionor apart and reverse it, it works pretty good like that. I drove the car the other day and it really isn't THAT bad to steer. I took it up to

120 and it was fine :) Yeah Buzz, my old motor is still alive, my friend traded a 302 for the 331 and put it in his car. Now that thing runs awesome, it is much stronger than it was in my old car. Plus he just ordered a spool, 31 spline axles, and slicks and skinnies. It's gonna be mean, I might finally get to see my motor go 11's :) That would make me very happy! Erik D. '94 white lightning

Roger that Buzz.

Where did you buy the rack from ??

You can find them at AutoZone, Discount Auto amoung other places. Look for the sportsman model as they have the closer ratio (15:1)

Thanks Joe. I'll check that out.

IIRC, several early Fox Bodies had Manual Steering.... ??

We have a local company called CV Tech. They did it up custom for me with a 17 to 1 ratio instead of the stock 15 to 1. that way if I jerk the wheel a little while shifting on the track, I won't wander as much. I can't wait to get it in and clean up the front end. The old power rack is ragged and covered in crud. ...a real show piece :)

Camshaft(??),

heh-heh...it's like donating a heart. Now you get to watch it live again. It's great that he will be setting it up in a strip car but I doubt it will leave you feeling "happy" as much as "pining" to have it back ...and under the hood of your lightning.

Buzz

Hehe, yeah I know what you mean Buzz. I kind of wish I had the motor back, but that thing was meant for a mustang, not a lightning. The lightning needs more than a 331 to get it moving, lol. I still am happy for my friend to have that motor, I know it is in good hands, and I also know I can drive it whenever I want now(again) :). The only thing different about it now is that I don't have to pay for it when it breaks! I can't wait to drive it down the track!!! Erik D. '94 white lightning

How well do you like your current steering setup (minus the parallel parking) ??
