She Lives ~ She Lives

Okay Gang........

So This is my third day driving "CHARLENE" and I am soooo happy, that I cannot express the Joy I have inside of me. I just wanted to post my thanks and gratitude for all the help and information that you guys gave to me...at no charge $$ of course!

I bought the Mustang last year from an older gentlemen who just used it to putz around in. When I got her she was in dire need of a clutch and some tender love. She was on the other hand, bone stock original......and I know that some of you guys are asking yourselves right now " WHY CHANGE ANYTHING IF IT'S ORIGINAL"......simple..I wanted too!~

So I immediatley changed the clutch and installed a Hayes with Pressure plate. I resurfaced the flywheel and all Is good. I took off the Y-Pipe and exhaust manifolds and put on some Headers (equal length), 2 3/4" stainless steel exhaust flowing into the Flowmasters 2 chamber mufflers. Purrs like a "battlecat"....ready to roar! That is all I did last year..I just wanted to drive her and make sure everyone knew she was coming. { what ego?}

So over the winter I had to change the water pump due to involuntary leakage...Sounds like my Grandma~!...so as I started that, that when my adventure began...starting with my "weekend from Hell" to my "bolt breaking Holiday".....and ending with the "carburator that wouldn't"......read my past posts if you need some deeper insight, or a trip down memory lane....god what a nightmare!

As you all know..I am a newbie to the mustang Owner Club and a first time mechanic.....needless to say, I beleive I held my own, and the proof is sitting outside in the parking lot....I hope GM doesn't mind it prettying up the lot!...

Many of my friends and family did not think I was going to be able to do it....but hey WE proved them wrong didn't we!?

I am in the middle of creating a small website dedicated to my little adventures and the end results.."CHARLENE" sittin' perty! So I just wanted to let you know that everything is all good.....and I will post the link soon.

Once again..thanks for everyones help and advice.......

My favorite year of the four eyes. I wish I had never let mine get away.

Its cool to do it yourself. I'm just about to get my 95 back on the road. Unfortunately I have to turn her over to professional to get the brakes pressure bled. After I get her back (and my latest order from Summit shows up) I need to install some gages and new mufflers and then I'll be ready to tear up the roads, I hope.

MadDAWG, didn't I just see you drive by a couple days ago in your stang? You must be pretty close to tearing up the roads from what I could gather! :-)

Yeah the new motor has a whole 16 miles on it. I got to get the brakes working better before I try and tear anything up. I found out my ABS unit is shot and bypassing within itself. I'm going to just rip that shit out and go back to good old fashioned brakes. I found my old mufflers were splitting at the seams so I'm getting some Hooker Aero Chambers put on tonight (I hope). Then I have the gages to put on. Maybe, just maybe if all goes well this weekend I can actually start driving it. I better hurry up and get it on the road before the snow starts flying.
