cracked dash

When I bought my truck it had alot of sun damage to the dash. Is there something that will cover the dash but not look stupid?

Some of the auto parts stores sell patch kits for auto interiors. If you go to any major auto parts centre, I am sure that they should have some kind of a kit.

When patching the dash, it will never be perfect. If you are very fussy, see if you can get one in good condition from a scrap yard. It is a fair amount of work to change the dash.

Might see if anyone ever made a "Dash cap" for that vehicle..

I attempted that once and after I disassembled it at the junk yard I decide it was too much work (but I have to say it was very good practice!) , but then I noticed that the dash cover can be peeled off in one large piece (it is lightly glued to a thin piece of foam underneath), so I went home and peeled the dash cover off my car and glued the new one down, didn't have to remove a single screw and it looked spectacular. All the edges fit down into the vent panels, for instance, so that part you didn't even have to glue as it fit snugly, in fact you really didn't have to glue any of it down as everything just fit perfectly.

You could hear a pin drop when the almighty bungalow snipped-for-privacy@yahoo.com addressed his adoring fans with these immortal words:

*excellent* idea! I'll keep that in mind.
