Speaker help for new Sentra

Dec 30, 2004 4 Replies

I recently bought a 2004 Sentra.

The sound system sounds worse than that in my 1994 Sentra! I'd like to get some new speakers, as I figure they rather than the deck is the problem.

Problem is I know NOTHING about speakers. What sizes do I need? What is a good brand of speakers to get? I suppose I'll go to Best Buy to purchase them and have them installed since it is the closest.

Any particular speaker yall can recommend? I'm looking for reasonably priced speakers that sound good---I don't wanna pay a premium for speakers that sound GREAT, as its not that important to me.

Thanks for any help!

go to a LOCALLY owned retailer car audio store.

best buy is a WORST BUY,,,, you might THINK you got a bargin by buying a cheaper product,, but when you compare two IDENTICAL products, everyone else is cheaper, sam ewith walmart,, they have cheap s*it,, but compare identical items and walmart is higher, usually MUCH HIGHER....

antway,,, best buy has crap for installers,, most cut wires and use black tape to make connections.......

that is 10000000% wrong. but its cheap...... thats what ya get .....

so go to a real car stereo store.

crutchfield is OK for a reference for size,,,, a local car audio store will have the same info and YOU can HEAR each speaker

go local

Both are the problem. There's little point in getting new speakers if you don't have a decent deck to pump power into them. Get a Pioneer deck and Pioneer

3-way speakers. Should run you $3XX. I'm sure you have 6.5s in your front doors. Stick your head in your trunk and look up; if the speakers are round, they're probably 6.5s back there too.
