Brakes ...

I have '92 Nissan Maxima SE. The car has started "groaning" literally when I slow down (in the last couple of seconds before it comes to a halt). I am not sure how to describe the sound :) Sorry. On a level-road, sometimes I do not hear the sound - but most times I do. But on an inclined road, I always hear it. Any ideas whether it is due to the brakes? Or is something wrong with the transmission? The car does come to a full-stop. I had the brakes and the rotors replaced in the front (both sides (left and right) were replaced) - about 3 months ago.

My guess its rust or gravel bits stuck between pads&rotor, typically goes away in few days, 100miles. If not, decide from which corner (if) it comes. Take wheel off, rotate and inspect. Again, while smbdy brakes lightly... Open, clean.

I've seen one case when one shop "Einstein" installed pads into a Citroen: one pad had dropped off, so piston hit the rotor... Cannot see how "he" could do this in a maxima, but I know "they're" resourceful... Take care.
