Fuel Filter 97 Maxima

Is there anything special that I need to know about replacing a fuel filter in a '97 Maxima?

Would like to do this myself but have never tried it before.

TIA, Kevin

Remove the air intake bellow. This extra 15 minutes will save an hour trying to access the fuel filter. Clean thre TB while the air intake bellow is removed!

If you have ABS, take out everything you can get your hands on, work in warm conditions (notice: engine cold, ambient air warm) so the hoses will be more pliable, and prepare to curse when the gasoline drips on your bloody knuckles.

Otherwise, nothing special to know. Just start the car with the fuel pump relay out until it dies and crank it a couple more times.

Pull the pump fuse and run the car until it dies. Try to start it a couple more times. This releases the fuel pressure (40+ psi). Then you can take stuff apart.

JM

After that, just put the pump fuse back and start the car?

Kevin

Yep, that's it. It may take a few extra seconds of cranking to build the pressure back up.
