A local shop offered a set of LeMans HR tires for my Maxima GLE. I haven't heard of them until now but they are cheaper than most others.
- Anybody got them and can offer an opinion (good or bad) ?
- How do they compare to my other top choices: (a) Yokohama AVS Db S2; (b) Continental ExtremeContact; (c) Bridgestone Potenza RE950 ? Let's ignore the price difference for this question and just look at noise level, wear, traction, comfort.
The other tires you mentioned are top quality and performance, and well tested. Its statistically unlikely this 'LeMans HR' is comparable. If they're cheaper, I'd especially be wary. I've found that even though they are tire specialists, shops often recommend tires with the best profit margin and assume you won't find a difference. Since none of us buy or use enough tires to make accurate comparisons, its an effective trick. So my point is don't let them sell you on it, especially unknown models.
