OT: what do ya use to read newsgroup

I've just been using Outlook Express. I set it to read as text only and I have no problems. It's simple and clean interface.

When I frequently read binary newsgroups I also used Forte Agent - an excellent program, but hard to learn. Lots of options that nobody uses, but many swear by it.

For this kind of newsgroup (discussion) I use Outlook Express. For binary newsgroups, I use Newsbin.

Yes, Forte Agent here too. I also post often directly from my Cotse web interface.

I had tried X-news but found it slow.

OE is fastest, but seems to be a memory hog and doesn't have blacklist/whitelist capiblities.

Same here...i prefer Forte Agent. I bought a license many years ago and still use it today. Great program.

I use knode which is a linux based newsreader. When I ran windows years ago I used free agent or netscape/mozilla. IMHO OE is a virus magnet and I uninstall it on every windows machine I service for friends or family!

Mozilla is good. I use Mozilla Thunderbird (email/news) and Mozilla Firefox (www browser). I havent had any problems yet, although both are still in beta testing.
