Can you hear the fuel pump run for about two seconds when you try to start the car?

There is a red wire with a typical connector on the end of it that is not hooked to anything in the engine compartment. Should be near the wiring harness to the oil pressure switch. This is the so-called fuel pump "prime" connection. Applying battery voltage to this wire will directly run the fuel pump.

An engine needs, fuel, air, spark, and proper timing for those things. Narrow it down to one of those and post back here.
