G.P. sway bar?

Need to replace front sway bar in 97 Grand Prix.GT. It appears to just unbolt and yank out. Is it that simple or do I have to Disassemble half the front end because of the bends of the bar.

Also does anyone make preformance hardware for the sway bar? If that makes any sense.

Thanks for any replies. Jim

Taking out the sway bar is fairly easy, it's putting in a new one that's a royal pain in the ass. Go to either PFYC.com or 3800performance.com, they have some great stuff. I have front and rear sway bars from next generation ( I think is who made them), absolutely bad-a$$! If you're doing that, you might as well get the Strut-tower braces as well. It has made a world of difference in my '01 GP GT.

I could be wrong on this, but I'm pretty sure you have to unbolt the A-arms to get it out. It's actually more work than it seems at first. Yes, because of the bends.

I know there are plenty of performance stores out there for the GP. But for the life of me, I can't think of any right now. grandprixstore.com I think may be one. Shouldn't be hard to find them though.

I've thought about doing that mod. Is it simply removing/replacing the tower nuts as it appears or do I have to jack up the car or clamp the struts/springs to keep something from flying off?

thanks
