Hi just bought a 1998 UK R reg rover 825 diesel, the reg document says the engine is 2679 cc heavy oil (Diesel) i cannot find any reference to this engine on the net they all refer to 2491cc diesel, my engine is fitted with four seperate cylinder heads and a turbo, its working fine and pulls like a train, but i want to change the oil and filter etc and check to see if it has a cam belt, but cannot find info on this particular engine.Any help would be appreciated.

Email snipped-for-privacy@ntlworld.com Thanks John

To my knowledge the engine fitted to the Rover 825 was a VM engine of 2.5 litre capacity (as used in the later Ford Scorpios I believe).

Either way, you've got a cambelt if there's no oil tight seal between the timing cover and the engine block, and usually the timing cover would be made of plastic.
