My dealer doesn't seem to know if the car has an MP3 socket.. as far as I could see the AERO just has the 12v socket in the console: I've orederd a vector with the AERO sound sytem shortly to arrive.

Really??.. hmmm ok....
Maybe what the advertisement meant is that the socket in the centre console will power an MP3 player?
On my 2004 9-3 Aero, there is a small plastic cap just beneath the standard 12v socket. Apparently, you can have a auxillary jack put in there so you can plug in MP3 players, for example. That's my understanding at least.
