Neither Saab executives nor devotees have had many reasons to smile lately, but on this day the overtly good-natured Swedes manage to flash their biggest grins and extend the warmest of handshakes to visitors of their Trollhattan factory...

Wow, a 250 HP engine in a SAAB Aero? Who'd have thought it was possible?

Oh, yeah, they did that in the '93 9000 Aero with 4 cylinders and 2.3 liters.

Progress schmogress...

Yeah, but think of the tuning-potential of that engine. ;o)

Arrm no! That was 225 Bhp. ;o)

Cheers!

My bad. That was 258 Ft/lbs torque on the 2.3L 4cyl 9000 Aero, which is what really matters anyway... ;-)

Er...soon-to-be-closed Trollhattan factory. :-(

But 250bhp plus overboost in the 9-5 2.3L 4cyl Aero. I suppose the market dictates that the performance variant must have 6cyl.

Lol ! Progress also seems to included mileage limited rubber cam belts too. :-(
