Is it possible to remove the plastic stripes between my taillights? How are these attached? How does it look under them, is the car painted, and does it look acceptable? Is it like on other 9000s without the stripes, or do they have other parts that I need to get for my car to look good?

If you are talking about the part around the number plate, that was a dealer installed accessory (at least it was in the US). I don't recall that it was included from the factory for any of the trim levels. You may be able to figure out how it is attached by removing the tail lights first. On my 9000 (which doesn't have this accessory) there are two small plugs on either side of the number plate that I assumed are for the holes to attach this piece. Sorry I can't give any more information on removal.

The paint underneath should look like any other 9000 without that accessory and be almost like new, once you remove any dirt that may have accumulated. The only problem is that the color may be slightly different because the rest of the paint may have faded a bit during its 14 years, depending on how often it was in the sun.

I think it looks attractive the way it is. Any reason for removing it? Is it showing an unacceptable amount of wear? I was thinking of getting this item, but it had been discontinued by the time I bought my car (used).

accumulated.

It has a few cracks, and I like the look of 9000s without this better.
