Saab 9000: temp gauge needle jumps unsteady

Nov 27, 2003 2 Replies

The temp gauge needle is jumping from 1/4 to 1/5 to 1/3 and so on. Sometimes it is steady for a while. But some days it remains real low. The thermostat and sensor are already replaced.

Also the heating inside has a great influence on the needle...

What can cause this unsteady behaviour?

If it's changing quickly, or jumping, then the two most likely causes are:

[a] A poor conection seither at the temperature sender or at the instrument panel [b] Air bubbles in the system

When did this start? Was it just after you did some other work?
