Where can I get a T16 Engine from (UK)

Hello All,

Got the T16 through the MOT last week. Now the headgasket's gone. There's a lot of mayonnaise on the dipstick, it's chucking out plumes of steam and misfiring a lot. My other problem is that the coolant drain plug is broken in the block, and it's been badly repaired in the pastw with steel putty crap and it's weeping.

If I can get one, it's going to be cheaper and easier to just drop a new motor in. So, does anyone know where I can get a decent T16 engine from in the UK? Can travel to collect, not a problem. Must be in good nick though. I don't especially need the ancillaries, but would take them if the price is right.

Ben, For second hand spares, you will be hard pressed to find better than these guys -

I've had several items from them and have found them quick and reliable.

I think I'm right in saying that they will do the whole engine replacement job for you thus avoiding nasty logistics.

Cheers Adrian. I'll see if they can supply an engine. I'm not interested in having it fitted, because I've got all the gear to change the engine myself - full height car lift, hoist, engine stand etc and loads of room and have built a few cars from the ground up, so that's not a problem. I certainley don't want to pay someone else a fortune to do it on a car I got for the cost of a bar of chocolate from my brother..
