There's been a gas shortage in Ontario, since there have been problems at a refinery there. Maybe demand from gas stations in Ontario is driving up prices in nearby U.S. states. Gas is about 90 cents/liter here in Alberta.

US$2.99 9/10 at the Chevron company station in Richmond, California today, in the shadow of the Chevron refinery, US$2.03 9/10 in Evanston, Wyoming this weekend, up from US$1.87 9/10. In Fairfield, CA I saw diesel fuel going for US$3.39 9/10 this last weekend. If anything, the price of diesel fuel is what runs the economy. Best regards, Chris Houck

Surely the folks in California did not think they could pass all of their goofy environmental laws and not pay the cost?

The reason is,the market price of a barrel of crude has gone up by at least $12 in the past month. Do a search of the American Petroleum Society site for more information, WBMA
