I gotta go with you on that... But a frame mounted electric pump is fine using the original fuel line routing which is what I did with the Lark, truck and '55 Prez.

Oh, and the dash pad is hideous!

Lawdy...the more I look... The shocks don't appear to be correct...notice the spacer and the bottom of the shock...lots of glitzy paint to hide stuff. The more I see, the more I keep tellin' the 'ol lady that my cars are worth WAY more than I used to think...and she better not GIVE the damn things away when I am in the dirt... If that car is worth twelve or so then my 59 is worth TWENTY.....and my Daytona is worth at least TEN... The 38's value doesn't matter as I will be buried in it..... Studebaker George

looks like he moved the shock mount inboard for some reason... the spacer is correct but I don't know WTF is with the electrical tape. Needs some new bushings too... aw hell just new shocks, they're not that expensive.

Makes me feel better about my own car... the interior may be trash, but I know the underside is RIGHT.

just looked at the driver side, the shock and mount actually looked about right - maybe the angle faked me out on the pass. side - but there's that tape again, and DID HE RUN THE FUEL LINE BETWEEN THE SHOCK AND SPRING...?

I gotta stop looking now.

Nate, IIRC that space doesn't belong on that year and I don't think the shocks are correct at all...and that is probably the reason for the tape (or whatever the hell it is) and the spacer. Studebaker George BTW, I just sold one of my "Ford" clocks to the owner of your old Daytona...

And forgot ot ask you if you ever got the AC pics I sent you quite a while back when you were "pondering" the AC stuff... Studebaker George

yes, I did, thanks. I *think* I have 95% of the stuff to properly mount the compressor, save for the actual adapter bracket. Now I just need a free weekend or two where I don't have something else crucial to do...

Probably not, but it'd be trivial to backdate the shocks, then you could use Jeep CJ shocks which is what I assume he did. I hope that car is doing well, I just knew I'd end up cutting it up and hotrodding it if I kept it.

I looked and read all your points but no one spoke of the muffer pipe resting on the cross member and how that issue would act on the said pipe with the motor running ??? But seeing this seems to be in keeping with the general re build of this poor car...
