How to bypass a/c on Astro Van?

Compressor seized so buddy took it off and now wants to bypass it altogether. Is it a simple "get shorter belt" or is there a mounting kit with a wheel to go where the compressor was? Thanks in Advance.

Thanks for the reply Mike. I called a parts place here and they said to loop a string around the pulleys and measure it. He also mentioned it would depend if there was an ?air pump? or not. Yes it is a 4.3L. thanks again.

Liter V6, which is probably that you have. You might find a decal under the hood showing this, or look in a Chilton book.

Unless the A/C clutch is seized, it should freewheel. Just unplug the wiring connector just behind the clutch pulley. Rex in Fort Worth

It's not always a simple case of getting a shorter belt. the mfgr will put a pully in place of it at times and that can throw off the idea of a shorter belt. Happened to a Camaro one time.
