The cigarette lighter output in my Mitsubishi Lancer 2005 is not working. Does anybody know what the problem is? Is it possible to fix myself? If not, how much do you think it will cost to fix it?
Thank you.

Did you check the fuse?
Some of these have additional fusible links as well. Start at the box and work forward.

If you have a blown fusible link, the cigarette lighter will be the least of your problems. The fact that the entire vehicle would be stone cold dead would be a dead giveaway. At the very least, there will be a *large* number of other dead systems. There is no fusible link just for the damn cigarette lighter.
Actually, some cars DO have a fusible link just for the damn cigarette lighter. It seems like a bad engineering decision to me, but then I had to replace it.
