2001 Prism transmission fluid

Would the transmission fluid be a Toyota fluid or a Chevrolet fluid? I want to get it changed and have to decide whether to take it to a Toyota dealer or a Chevy dealer.

Your kidding, right?

Take a look at the transmission fluid dipstick or your owner's manual for automatic transmission fluid (ATF) specifications. I believe that it is Dexron III, which is available at any service facility so take it to the dealership of your choice.

I'm sorry, I shouldn't have answered so abruptly...

You have to take this car to a dealer In Tokyo to have the fluid changed.

But, they won't ship the car all the way there. About 400 miles west of Hawaii, just drive it off the rear of the ship.

Make sure to fill the trunk with bags of conrete mix, first.
