95 Avalon wet carpet on front passenger floor

I've got a 95 Avalon that now has wet carpet on the front passenger floor. I suspected the AC drain and pulled it but it is clear and running something up into the box didn't result in anything either. Any ideas on what to check next? I will probably put the drain hose into a container and run the AC to see if anything is coming out. If not, what to check next? Thanks.

The source of the leak appears to be the plastic ductwork to the rear seat compartment floor vent. Who would have thought that? Any ideas on how to pull that and work on it? Maybe it would easy to repair the leak since it shouldn't really be under pressure. My shop manual does not cover this kind of thing. Thanks.

There are several possible sources of leaks.

The AC drain is a common source. The drain tube should be passed through the floor to the exterior of the underbody.

I read where someone found a leak at the top of the windshield, and the water was channeling down to the carpet.

Check the drains at the bottom of the doors to make sure they are not clogged.

Ray, Thanks for the info. The leak is for sure coming out of the floor ductwork though. The drain is also draining under the car however. Why are things so seldom easy? Obviously there should not be water in that ductwork so something is not right in the condensor/exchange mechanism. Not sure how to troubleshoot it either. Thanks again. Curious is anyone else has ever had this.

Try removing the blower motor to provide a large enough opening to see what is going on inside the ductwork. I would not be surprised if a critter made a nest which is acting as a dam to prevent all of the water from going out the drain tube.
