avalon key programming

2002 camry Australian version. I have two new keys with transponder (I think)to program car to accept. I put the key I got with the car (second hand car only one key, Black)into ign. without turning on pressed gas five times brake 6 times removed key, alarm light supposed to stay off till new key put in and accepted, but it started blinking which is supposed to mean it has not gone into program mode. Any one got any ideas as the toyota mob in Australia want $60 something dollars to do it with computer. They reckon they have not heard of the press pedal method and it can not be done that way.

G'day, If no info received from gurus, I have Toyota (OZ) full workshop manual for OZ Avalon 2000-2003. It is a convoluted process but does not involve accelerator, too complicated to post here but I could scan & email to you. Would not be for a few days. Let me know. Regards, Jacko.

Thanks, that would probably be a great help if it does not involve expensive computer OBD gear although the toyota people say that it can only be done with their equipment. I have only a cheap gregorys manual witch says nothing on the subject. My hotmail email is valid but I have to keep checking as it chucks a lot in the bin

No OBD gear, just actions from the drivers seat. I will hopefully get it done this weekend. There will be 4 pages, Registration of a new transponder key. Registration of additional master key. Additional registration of a sub key. Erasure of transponder key. Regards, Jacko.
