OT: Bottled Water Tax?

I wasn't thinking about the obvious, i.e. you don't leave a gun in your car, but you're right. There are stupid people that own guns.

I think that's why the Liberals hated Ronald Reagan so much. He actually tried to do the things he campaigned on. His 30% tax cut got trimmed to

25%, for instance, but it still got through. The Liberals assumed that once the campaign was over, it would be "business as usual".

I think that's also why they hate GW.

Let me tell you how it will be, Its 1 for you, 19 for me, Cause I'm the Taxman, Yeah, I'm the Taxman.

Should 5% appear too small, Be thankful I don't take it all, Cause I'm the Taxman, Yeah, I'm the Taxman.

If you drive a car, I'll tax the street, If you try to sit, I'll tax your seat, If you get too cold, I'll tax the heat, If you take a walk I'll tax your feet,

Taxman!

Cause I'm the Taxman, Yeah, I'm the Taxman.

Don't ask me what I want it for, If you don't want to pay some more. Cause I'm the Taxman, Yeah, I'm the Taxman.

Now my advice for those who die, Declare the pennies on your eyes, Cause I'm the Taxman, Yeah, I'm the Taxman.

And you're working for no one but me.

PS, the pennies back in 1966 in England were the size of our Kennedy half dollars. There were 12 to a shilling, and 20 shillings to the pound, hence the "It's 1 for you, 19 for me." line Taxes in Britain were quoted at so many shillings and pence in the pound.

Some old timers might remember that but a lot of people have grown up with decimal pounds. If you're old enough to remember before Canada had dollars, you're even older than I am.

We have a spigot and a Pur filter on the refrigerator. Good water.

The DH is defiantly smart enough and witty enough to be a Republican. Perhaps he is a closet Republican, :)

Heh. No one could pay me enough to sit through his crap.

I think DH is a "conservative". Not a current-day Republican.

The person drinking it wouldn't know the difference between what's in the bottle and what came out of the tap in most cities in this country.

In fact, some bottled water is simply tap water. They sell the "convenience".

Watch the 2nd video. 12 minutes. Very enlightening.

Right... but I do aspire to be a Republican, someday. A Country Club Republican. I'm just short a couple million bucks at the moment...

It's important that people realize the distinction. The CC-Repub thing, well, that's a goal I guess.

Seems it would be a lot more convenient to buy a bottle and fill it from you own tap

There is a bottle plant owned by Nestle near Allentown Pa that bottles a 1/2 dozen different brands, top name brands to Wal-Mart. They all contain the same water, that Nestle buys from the city for $1.85 a THOUSAND gallons, that comes from the Lehigh river. Can you spell "naive" backwards? LOL
