Crawford or Kennebunkport visiting his folks...or Albania would be just fine, so long as he doesn't come near DC. Or open his yap.

It seems your wonderful Dims in the Senate have a lower popularity.

Why is that?

Because of something Bill Clinton did.

What have the democrats in the majority congress accomplished so far? What are your expectations for them in the next year?

dbu,.

And apparently other countries also. How about France? That entire nation has turned around and given Sarkosy a huge conservative majority in their legislature. If I remember right, Sarkosy is a fan of GWB also

If the Democrats can simply keep the Bush gang of cutthroats from doing what they've been doing to this country, that will satisfy me and lots of others.

What have the 'cutthroats' been doing to the country?

If the Democrats can simply keep the Bush gang of cutthroats from doing what

I watch Dem after Dem after Dem say, "We need to ". Just once it would be interesting to hear one say, "I'm going to..." or "I will do...".

But that would require an actual stance on something, not just being the Antibush.

Character matters.

Dems keeping Bush from doing something? I'm waiting for one, just ONE to do something other than saying, "We need to do...."

If I hear another politician use that phrase again, I'll chuck my lunch. Just once I'd like to hear something that nails one of these sleazoids down and makes them commit to do ANYTHING.

The results could be most entertaining, particularly in an election year.

What do you want them to do instead? Stage a coup? One branch of government forgetting its Constitutional limits does not mean the others do the same.

Can you say "non sequitur"?

I'm not asking for a coup, just to hear one politician have the balls to not say "We need", and instead say, "This is what I'm going to at least try to do."

It isn't enough for the Dems to just be the Antibush. If they wish to attain any sort of credibility at all, then at least one of 'em is going to have to commit to some course of action publicly.

They're all screaming about ending the war. Fine. Then do something to end it! Don't just whine like a bunch of babies. Commit to it. Put your actions where your mouth is.

But I'm not holding my breath. It just ain't gonna happen. Not a one of them wants to lead the charge for fear of what'll happen over there when they get our troops pulled out, if they can.

This is politics, boy. Uglier and more disgusting than sausage being made. Remember?

Acquaint us with just a few of the highlights of congressional activity from

2000 to 2006. When all is said and done, a lot said not but not much done. So the repubs coasted for six years, and you're whining over less than six months of repub blocking the Democrats? Get real.

If you had bothered to read my post earlier in the thread, I asked the same of all politicians, not just Dems. They were the ones I targeted when referring to the unpopularity of the war in Iraq.

Do try to keep up.

I'll type slower for you. The Dems pretty much all ran on ending the war. They're doing it now during posturing for the 2008 nomination. It's convenient for the easily duped to focus on that unpopularity while sitting in front of the 25 inch tube in their double-wide, nodding mindlessly at the talking heads saying, "We need to bring the troops home." All the while the actual methods to do so just don't matter much. Very likely beyond their comprehension level anyway.

I'm just asking for details. Tell us just HOW you want to accomplish this, instead of just barking about it. There's something wrong with that? Whining? Get real?

I'm on planet earth. Try it some time.

You're not seeing me disagree with you here, as I've done with those supposedly on the right. The war, as it's being fought now, is a joke. If you're going to handcuff the guys on the front lines instead of letting them do their jobs, bring 'em home.

I don't want to think of how WWII would have turned out had it been run this way. For God's sake, this is war, not a social experiment. Fight it properly, effectively, and harshly, or finish our involvement.

Based on your posts, I would guess you don't have half the problem with corrupt, do nothing repubs that you seem to have with Democrats. The Six years that repubs drafted on the neocons coat tails and poured lives and money down the drain in Iraq without so much as a single hearing? By all means, get real.
