The Chinese government wants to shield its eyes to this inconveneint issue..

Seems the Chinese are not too impressed with the Lib God Al Bore....

Smart....

I don't think Al Gore's wife is even impressed with him.

That's not the point though. The Chinese are building one coal plant a week for the next 7 years. They do not intend on acknowledging polution or global warming because it would be completely inconvenient for them to do so.

Of course the Chi Coms won't pay attention to this man made global warming religion the left has developed.

To further quote:

Meanwhile, former German Chancellor Helmut Schmidt called for an end to the "hysteria" over global warming in the lead-up to the summit. The topic is "hysterical, overheated, and that is especially because of the media," Schmidt told Germany's Bild daily.

There has always been climate change on earth, Schmidt said.

"especially because of the media" Isn't that the inconvenient truth, the real truth. It might even apply to GWB, he's been a poster boy for the media and the dimmie minions have followed like lemmings, LOL.

Man influenced global warming should be common sense... other than the science...

Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is a colorless, odorless, greenhouse gas. CO2 emissions are emitted naturally but are also emitted from aerosols, burning coal, vehicle exhaust, and oil refining. As any greenhouse gas, it traps heat in the Earth's atmosphere and in return heats the earth. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), prior to the Industrial Revolution of the late 18th century and early 19th century, carbon dioxide levels recorded in the air were 280 parts per million by volume (ppmv). The NOAA has concluded that today's levels have risen to 370 ppmv (Global Warming: Frequently Asked Questions). The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) wrote in the Special Report on Emission Scenarios (SRES) that at the end of the 21st century, we can expect to see a CO2 concentration of approximately 490 to 1260 ppmv. The SRES states that this will be a 75-350% rise from the 280 ppmv measured prior to the Industrial Revolution. The measurements and calculations from the NOAA and IPCC suggest that human created emissions are causing CO2 levels to rise and wreak havoc on the Earth (6.3. Greenhouse Gases and Sulfur Emissions.). This information is just a smidgeon of the evidence that humankind is contributing to the warming of the Earth.

The rise in CO2 and other greenhouse gasses are causing the Earth severe environmental change. Glacial melting is an obvious example of the heating of the Earth. 100 years ago there were over 150 glaciers in Glacier National Park, located in Montana. There are now only around 27. In the 1980's the U.S. Geological Survey systematically studied the remaining glaciers and found that global warming was indeed the demise of the melted glaciers (Glacier Retreat in Glacier National Park, Montana). A glacier's growth and recession is a great way to measure the Earth's atmospheric changes. There are massive changes in glaciers throughout the world whose changes have been documented to have occurred in relatively short periods of time. Glaciers are rapidly melting in Peru, Italy, America, China, Argentina, South America and many other places. Pictorial evidence of these glacial changes can be witnessed by watching the documentary, "An Inconvenient Truth: A Global Warning." A segment of the documentary covers pictorial evidence year by year and shows receding glaciers around the world. This is a sobering view and just a taste or what is to come (A Inconvenient Truth: A Global Warning.).

There has always been salt in your blood. So start drinking salt water everyone.

There has always been C02 in the atmosphere. So let us start pumping 10 times the natural amount into the atmosphere.

The Arctic ice sheet has shrunk by 6% to 7% in winter and by 10% to 12% in summer over the last 30 years. In the same time... 125 out of 150 glaciers has melted completely in Glacier National Park. In 17 years it is estimated they will have to rename the park.

Just saying...

I think the answer is to elect more congress people like Dim William Jefferson....

That should take care of the ice bergs....

Indeed! I am not doubting their is financial inconvenience and that they could not hold it against us....Not at all. No more than a southern hick laughs at the dinner table that global pollution and co2 emitions are make-up and that his f350 is the most liable and fuel efficent vehicle on the road....

I am a Republican. Don't pull your "you must be a liberal" tactics out just because I see the obvious truth about global warming. I did not say that government was or should be the sole changer of our environment. It should be a capitalistic move. Where the people demand newer technologies for energy and so forth.

If we said no more China imports they would have a crash, LOL.

I currently type better than that but had surgery recently and am on vicodin. Your personal attacks show how weak your argument is though.

They don't care about the environment and we will not press the issue with them. Don't worry about that.

Jeff is correct. China has us in the chokehold. So even if our government was to come around to the fact that man emitted C02 is influencing the rise in global heat then we would still be SOL with China. China runs the world right now and only pretends to care about foreign policy of other nations.

Right. I don't care either way!

95 senators refused to sign the Kyoto agreement. There are some who say we need to work on an agreement that doesnt hurt the economy. Usually the criticism is that we have pulled away from the table all together. Personally I don't care about Kyoto... it is indeed a socialist type attack. However, the only way to stop China will be militarily.

Man made emissions are here to stay for a long time.... Most who have not yet gotten it, will not get it until massive problems are common.

In the last Dell I bought, the only thing that's not made in China is the mouse pad, which has a big proud "Made in US" printed on it.

This is exactly the kind of stupidity and thinking that has got us where we are in the world. For the last several decades the Oil Companies and Auto industry have had far too much influence in our Middle East policies based on what was financially good for them. We are paying a devastating price today for this unprincipled behavior. When we are in fear of any country who holds investments in the US, and base our policies on that, we are already a 3rd world country, and will not be around for very long. Unfortunately the majority of people believe wall street is the main thing we have to worry about. It may actually take another wipeout of Wall street and hard times to generate the turnaround in American values that greed and the Wall street bunch have created. We are still the biggest market in the world and if we were to close our markets to China they would suffer a devastating depression but you and many others including our elected officials, seem to be oblivious to this and never speak about this which is inexcusable. It would be more disruptive for China to lose our market and have a huge depression than for the US if they were to pull their money and invest it in a more unstable market. I call this the dopehead society, when most people don't have a clue about our strengths, and our politicians and elected officials refuse to use this strength to get the deficit and other problems resolved while we still hold the trump cards.

What stupid is this: Forget global warming. Pretend the idea never existed. What matters is that they don't care if their cities live in permanent blankets of smog, which is bad for human health.

Forget global warming. Think health.

Global warming doesn't matter. Focus on health. Smog matters on a local level.
