I certainly didn't excuse it, but I may have explained it that way because that's what fertility clinics do and for that very reason. If you believe otherwise, then you're ignorant of this very common, perhaps universal, practice. The reason multiple eggs are implanted simultaneously is because the procedure is expensive, at least $10,000-20,000 per try, whether one egg or several are implanted.
