Re: (OT) Dems own the budget now

The Stimulus Package passed the House vote without one single Republican

That's why they have staffers. Haven't you ever called the office of an elected barnacle to inquire about a piece of legislation?

No idea how many. But some of these staffers like their careers, so it behooves them to do their job right. They're not all law interns who are only there for a summer or a year.

Complaints like this come from both sides every so often. Makes me wonder why a big bunch of them don't arrange a press conference and raise hell about it. Maybe in this case, they did.

If they wanted to do something constructive, one or more them would sponsor a new law saying that any single member can call for (and be guaranteed to get) X number of days to review legislation before voting.

I'm not aware of anyone ever having suggested such a thing.

Translation: You can't handle more than one idea at a time. That's not unusual as people age.

I spoke the truth. Our ability to handle complexity begins diminishing in our 30s. This is one reason why modular programming came into existence.

I move to side tracks because I assume you and others are able to remember that we'll return to the main track at some point, sort of like Garrison Keillor's stories. Apparently, I'm overestimating your abilities.

Learning a musical instrument would help you with your issues.

Spend more time with them. Staring at trading screens too long makes you too linear.

Yes and whenever I contact Specter the RINOs, office the reply is ALWAYS the same, no mater which way you tell him how you feel about a subject. "I appreciate you opinion and will take it under advisement." I believe he is finished in Pa come the next election, most people are not in favor of the massive spending bill. LOL

No, you don't.

Pelosi promised 48 hours to review the bill, then reneged. Where is the open government BO promised?

This is now the BO/Dim recession, no mater what the outcome and the CBO says it will not help the economy of the next five years.

Somebody needs to have their kneecaps changed.

Offering an opinion and demanding a detailed discussion about legislation are two very different things. You've done the former, but never the latter.

You could be right, he's walking a bit of a tightrope. Move too far to the right and he's sure to loose the general election. Move to the left and he's likely to loose the primary to a right winger who would be almost guaranteed to loose in the general. He's going to have to be very careful if the Republicans want to hold onto his Senate seat.

According to Douglas W. Elmendorf, director of CBO:

H.R. 1, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, would, in CBO?s judgment, provide a substantial boost to economic activity over the next several years relative to what would occur without the legislation.

If I borrowed your guitar, I would've hung bells all over it before I went to bed, and slept with TWO guns on the night stand.

Tell me about my neighborhood, Uncle Jemima. Tell me the visions you have in your perpetually drunken head.
