The driver's window is broke mechanically. I am attempting to remove the driver's side panel to lift up window for the winter but have problem removing panel.
What is secret in removing the panel, please? I have removed all the screws but apparently missing something. Thank you, Seamus J. Wilson
Well when I remove a door panel the first thing to do is remove the screws. Some are hidden under plastic plugs or in light covers or under handles, etc. The worst screw I saw was in the carpet near bottom of door where you could never figure out. During this process I gently pull on door so you can figure out where resistance is coming from. After screws removed you can yank out plastic holddown. Use the tool that looks like a screwdriver with a big flat tip and a groove in middle to hook out plastic holddowns around perimeter of door. Or you can just grab edge of door panel and yank out but sometimes this causes plastic to break or holes in panel or door to break, especially in panel which seems to be made of like a heavy cardboard. You can lie down and gently pull edge of door to locate plastic holddowns. Once side and bottom edges of panel are loose you pull upward on panel to remove it where it goes down where glass appears out of door. Sometimes you remove triangular plastic piece to make pulling upward easier. You usually also have to manuever handle into panel to remove it. Just kind of pull gently to see where resistance is felt and wiggle panel to see where hold downs are. Also you have to unplug door controls from panel.
