2003 SE upholstery

This is our first Camry, 2003 SE, and we opted for the standard cloth upholstery. What's with that material? It collects just about every piece of lint that it comes in contact with. Unfortunately I've got the charcoal color so it's real easy to see it. My problem is that no matter what I do, the lint won't come off this material. I've energetically vacuumed, lint brushed, etc. all to no avail. Has anyone else run into this and do they have any hints as to keeping these seats clean?

I went to the local Wal-Mart and bought a can of 3m Scotchguard and treated the seats and other upholstered areas and the amount of lint I get is next to nil.

Agreed. I used Scotchguard on my '98 Sienna and most of the upholstered areas look still new. I used 6 cans on my new LE Camry to apply two applications.
