89 camry power locks...

A few months ago my power locks completly stopped working and all for doors were in the lock position. It was almost impossible to get in the car since I had to really apply force when turning the key only to lift the knob high enough to open the door. Basically, 3 of 4 door lock knobs (all but one rear passenger) were stuck in the lock position. I got took all the lock motors out of the doors so that i'd at least be able to get in and out of my car. Any ideas? Thanks

Can you move the solonoid arm in an out manually? If not buy replacement ones off ebay

There was a recall for the power door locks - did you have yours fixed - that happened maybe in 1990....

I think it was related to some locks always locking - and causing a fire in some cases.

All the solenoid arms I took out did not move at all. I find it weird that this happened to 3 of them at the same time. What do you mean by check rods for binding? Thanks

I don't know if it has been done since I am the third owner of the car. Do you know where I can find out if it has been done or where I can get more info on that recall? Thanks, Dom

I think you are to late for a 13year old recall
