AM/FM/CD/Cassette Combo What fits a '93?

I have a '93 Camry wagon with the AM/FM/Cassette player in it. I'd like to replace it with a combo unit and have seem some Toyota units on Ebay. Can anyone guide me as to which model years would be interchangeable? I'd like to be able to pull the existing unit out, plug the new one in and turn it on without having to cut and splice wiring. I know I can go aftermarket but would prefer to have a stock look. TIA DFB

they have OE factory stereos available and aftermarket double din radios with cd and cassette.

they are usually the higher end models because that is just how they are made.

Why not just buy the single DIN add on CD player? Look for one from a 97 back --- they new ones are different. If you get one with the radio and it says anti theft on the cassette do --- they you need the OEM amp too (unless you already have it). The plugs are different on the radios that require the amp -- your 2 plugs go into the amp and a single wire goes to the antitheft radio. Oh, and you'll need the theft code if it was set in the radio. Costly to get the dealer to reset it.

Take your current one out and look at the plugs. Buy one on Ebay that has the same plugs. As long as they're also 7" wide, they'll plug in perfectly with no modifications.

You have a good idea on keeping it stock. It'll prevent your car from being broken into. The radio is not so much of a concern. The hassle of getting a broken window fixed is not worth an aftermarket radio. I suggest replacing your speakers with good aftermarket ones though.
