Have Camry's Shrunk Over the Last 10 Years?

The newer Camry's are actually larger, although headroom may be an exception. The springs and shocks on your older Camry may be worn which gives a softer ride. Also, when was the last time you checked your tire pressure.

One other possible explanation is that Camry's from Japan come with very high air pressure in the tires (so they can pack them tighter on the ship), and they are supposed to be deflated by the dealer to normal pressure upon delivery, but they don't always do that. This can cause an extremely harsh ride. When I took delivery of my Camry, I almost freaked out until I realized it was the tire pressure.

We had a 1996 Camry and just bought a 2003 Camry. Both are 4-cylinder. We had them both in the garage side by side. The new one is longer, taller, and wider. I love driving the new one. I did not want to sell the old one but we did. I am not selling the new one!
