Water dripping down (96/Carmy)

Apr 19, 2004 1 Replies

From my drive way, I noticed a spot (no smell, no color, non-oil - water like) on the front passenger side of my 96 Carmy. The car runs fine, nothing strange. You can see it dripping down even the car is stoppped and parked.

The spot looks like from A/C, but not sure since I don't turn on A/C that often.

any comment is appreciated.

As you surmise, I suspect that it is merely condensed water from your air conditioner. You could check. If the water drips more often with the air conditioner set for maximum cooling and the fan on full with the windows open, the water is probably just A/C condensate.

Perhaps not, though:

A side product of burning hydrocarbons is water vapor. You can see condensed water vapor dripping out of the tailpipes of some cars if conditions are right. It is completely possible that Toyota has allowed that condensed vapor to leave the vehicle in a slightly classier way.

Either way, it's completely normal and nothing about which to worry.
