34PICT carburetor, Alternator clearance

I have a dual port 1600 on my beetle, and I want to use the stock 34PICT carb with an alternator. Does anyone know where I can get the offset or shim adapter plate for these? I've seen them before, but all anyone seems to have now is the one to convert a 30PICT to dual port manifold. I think some of the 1973/74 USA spec beetles had alternators with a carb, but from what I understand the accelerator pump linkage was different. Unfortunately, I have a fairly new Brosol replacement carb on mine, and I'd rather not swap it out for a 30+ year old model......Might be able to find an old stock carb with the right linkage and just use the pump arm, but only if I _have_ to...

Any links, suggestions, places to call?

Thanks!

just bend the pump arm in to clear the alt. Worked for me.

You can grind a notch (back) out of the alt. and you will be fine.

If he had gone with a pedastel to make the carb sit higher, wouldn't that have defeated some of the pre-heat's effectiveness? I ask because I believe that happened to me last winter.
