Anyone have "personalized" plates??

Had a vehicle pass me a couple weeks ago with the plate "WTF" on it. Had to laugh out loud. Surprised that got by the obscenity checks at the DMV.

Someone once picked up a used Stuttgart plate in the EX xxxx series after it had been used on a vehicle, and aparently scrapped. It was a front plate, and this was long before TuV stickers on the front, it only had the Kreis Stuttgart (badly defaced) sticker on it. Strange how that combination means nothing in German. I also knew a fellow with a plate from Meschiede in the S xxx block. Again a front plate long before the days of TuV. Used to drive around Arkansas with it on the front of his vehicle. Arkansas issues only one plate and they do not care at all what plate you have on the front. At least they didn't in those days, nearly 20 years ago. Couldn't afford a proper vanity for the back, I guess.

We just had a lady retired from my place of work who was born in HB. That was one of the few places that had the same code in the 1906-1945 and 1956 to date series. She was born during the war.

Had a friend once that helped implement the 'personalized plate' program in one state back in the 70's. I have the personalized plate he got for himself the first year. "HANG-10". He had a house in Surf City in those days. Guess which state?

If you changed that W to an R, you might find that you get pulled over a lot more by the local cops. :o)

And this plate number is always interesting if you look at the reflection that it makes in the mirror.

I think I've seen some sought-after plates on the road; deliberate or otherwise:

KL-UG-nnn LIP-PE-nnn ER-BE-nnn PA-UL-nnn etc.

Numerous other possibilities even if the administrative areas try to avoid certain combinations. :-)

The word on the plate was what my family called Beetles when I was a kid. We played `weefer' instead of `punch buggy'.

I went to the courthouse, and saw a GA plate "Support Education" ...I got one because I have a girl in preschool, another in 3rd grade, and a wife who's a high school student teacher...the bucks stop here... besides, it might help if I get pulled over at night with no tail light, instead of an "OLDFREEK" or "DEDHED" plate....
