Fiery Bug - Spitting fire

Hi RAMVA! Today I finnaly turned on the SB, after a few weeks just sitting there it started perfectly. Except for some minor flaws. Last time I parked it, I just staticaly timed it, adjusted valves and tuned the carb (solex H-30 Pict). Today (tonight) when it started, I noticed something funny in the way it sounded. It was just not himself anymore. I sat on a bench behind him, wondering why when I saw fire coming out of the tailpipes. it was just once or twice every 4 to 5 seconds, and more often from the drivers side than from the right side. It was just like I was out of timing, but I remember clearly having timed it. What are the possible causes for this?

Double check that valve adjustment! It's not impossible that it could be running way lean or with a clogged fuel filter or with old/bas gas, but the items JT listed are the likely culprits. If it's sat for a bit, it could be a sticky valve as well. My experience with flame at or just off idle with vehicles in general has always been either valve or intake/exhaust related. Did you drop a lumpy cam in it you forgot about? :-P

...I suppose it could be an exhaust or intake leak even. Or maybe spark plugs in the wrong order?
