Did you post a follow-up on the Golf problem? If so I missed it.
I am still working on it...
TPS checks out ok, but ECU still tries to get the RPMs down. a new TPS is US$120 so its my last chance.
I washed the engine today, and pulled out every connector I could get my hands on, and took the distributor cap. Rotor and cap the ones that came with the car in 1996! They were very pitted and you can sometimes hear sparks in the dist. So tomorrow is new rotor and cap, and then keep on checking....
I also tested the MAP sensor... I could get the engine to stall easily blowing and sucking on the hose, so at least something is working there...
I would love to get some data on how much resistance should the TPS have on the idle position, and how to make the ECU relearn its setting for a new one in case I change it....
kinda figured it was something like that, thanks
So far I can only find ULAPS around here in the netherlands .... (UnFriendly Local Auto Parts Store). I guess if I had a super-turbo super-tuned 2lt Corolla I would be more popular in these shops.

Nope, not true, if you drive a corolla you will not need to drive it to the autopart stores....LOL On the other hand a 2ltr in a corolla would be nice???? (Sorry, couldn't resist)
