Hi: My fuel gauge meter varies as much as 1/2 tank especially when tank is near full. I have replace the fuel sending unit in the tank, tightened the connections on the back of the VDO, and checked the spade connections from the tank to the fuel gauge. Is the fuel gauge vibrator located on the back of the VDO bad or am I missing something?

Make sure that the 4 bolts and clamps that tighten the tank down are tight. It might even help to loosen them up and retighten them. The gauge expects the tank to be grounded and these bolts are what ground it.

My VDO gauge does that alot when its below 1/2 a tank... should i try the same thing?
