It is wonderful that others are restoring or using aircooled bug or bus stay on the road for years even the knowlege of stuff became harder to find, parts more harder to get etc.

Background: Mine is not related to this area but the main thing is same: age. Mine is Early 1987 plymouth caravan. Why early? There was mid year change that year, smaller engines, carb 2.2L by chrysler and 2.6L mitsubishi. Carbed 2.2L was ending and injected 2.5L 4 cyl and 3.0L v6 came in latter half of '87.

When I first bought 'van because body is so good and didn't expect to find carb still used that late. Former owner did all kinds of screws ups. OK! Try junkyard, ugh all injected cars. Oh great, had to use ebay and one nice guy far away to get carbs for parts and other items.

Info is very scrare on 'net and other places, still found some but I'm still looking.

For example I'd really want to know how much play is acceptable for carb throttle shafts. Mine is two barrel non-feedback holley/weber

5220. Is there a one that can rebush for a fair price?

Cheers,

Lane and others, thanks. I already have spent hours on google and like you found I find same thing very little.

I agree on converting to FI but may be next year, in mean time doing it on carb to get the feel what it is like in old days.

Anything else?

Cheers,

Wizard
