How to remove Sterring Wheel 72 Super Beetle + Other questions...

I did a google search and I see how to remove the sterring whell with the 27mm Nut. But my problem is how do I get the Horn cover off with out breaking it? My 71 Super already has the cover off so it should be easy to take off. But the 72 I am taking it off off has a Wolfsburg Sterring Wheel and I can't get the cover off with out breaking it.

Also what's the best way to remove a glove box? I took out one scre but now their is a stap holding it down. I couldn't get a grip on the screw holding it in. Going to take a different size screw driver But might have to cut the metal strap.

I am thinking of getting a Sawall to cut out the metal piece "Extra Luggage Compartment " on the 72 Super. Will a 10 Amp be good enough or do I need the 13 Amp?

Thanks Steven

Is that the 4-corner "batwing" cover?

If so, you pop each corner off with your fingertips- no tools.

Onyl pic I found on the net was the early bugs Batwing Wheel.

Got it off just like you said. Now have to look at one of my VW books and see how the horn goes. Sometime next week I will install this steering wheel.

Now to cutting out the area behind the back seat :-)

Thanks Steven

Total resto (body off) and the guy is a photog so there are tons and tons of great pics.

Jump to week #17 (I think) for the area of your interest.
