Just put my 1303 on ebay

no....updated....has a nice ring to it...but with just a few bolt on parts, it *would* be "easily restorable"...

Good to hear you're just moving on to another ACVW and you'll still be a citizen of the the Aircooled magic kingdom. :) Both your 1303 and the new car look great.

When I first read the thread, I wasn't sure what "moving on" meant so you had me worried, buddy!

I will still be around this grooup for a while yet !

The kit car is what I _want_ to do next, but you know how it goes. The boat will be here any week now too :-)

The kit will start air cooled , and I will build a street race engine, but if its not as fast as a REAL ferrari, the the V8 will go in

I will try and get my Split bus MOT's and back on the road too.

I hear ya -- I _want_ to work on my 72 bug, but over the last month I've been rebuilding my daughter's subaru engine. Those kits cars are very cool. I always liked the puma/bug

I didn't know you are into racing. Not to get you to change your mind on V8 power, but you may like the following video:

It is an Areal Atom -- a extra light extraskeletor frame, no body running a supercharged Honda engine with all the trimmings.

Goes 0-60 mph in 3 seconds! It will suck the headlights out of most mustle cars. Winshield is extra, so you will be eating bugs. And it is apparently street legal in the UK, since Top Gear only test street cars... :)

Looks like a fun little car , but not in the rain!

The ferrari kit isnt much heavyer that the bug chassis on its own, and a 455 v8 will give you 450Hp probably cheaper than a supercharged honda.

It's not that I am into racing, but if a car looks fast then it should go fast. I do find that in the trans am, no one even want's to take me on at the lights. When the truth is its a big lump !

The later factory models had a Midengineering frame, 490CI (or something like that) V8 and Tornado tranny. It was the fastest stock American automobile in the world.

I got the earlier model. Selling it for a song. Need cash.

Thats -nearly- the same as mine I think. Dino 246, just a different kit. You can use a frame with mine, or a VW chassis. VW chassis are cheaper to own and insure and Tax free !

Will have to do something with the suspension and brakes though :)

It's a strange cross between the Dino and Porsche 904.

Even better! That would be a fun little car, wouldn't it?

Did you see the guy's face getting all deformed from the speed? His turkey neck was flopping in the wind. :)
