Very interesting... Are you using coil overs on the rear? It looks like the spring plates are not being used.

Do you think the stub axle housing might need some support at the rear?

I'm using spring plates. The spring plate mount wasn't welded to the trailing arms yet in that picture.

Ok, keep us posted on how it works out. I need to find out if I can use a bus CV on one end and Type 1 CV on the other. If so, a custom set of arms would allow me to use the stock axles.

Just depends on the splines I guess. I don't know if they are the same.

Right now I have type 1 cv's, just to see how long they will last. I don't expect much out of them.

My arms were easy to make. Just a basic jig that I built us> trey wrote:

I need Type 2 CV's for the transaxle end. Another option I've thought about would be custom trailing arms and adapters for Type 2 to Type 1 CV's.

looks good Trey... maybe Kaferhack/marihack can take a look at your pictures and see some welding, not that "a chicken flew over" stuff he passes off as welding...LOL

Not sure they do anything like I'd need. There have been discussions on using the type of axles they make on a VW and so far, it looks like it's not the way to go. Probably cost me more going thru them than buying the axles, bus trans mounting kit, CV's, and stub axles anyway.

Maybe they can help. They made me a special order driveshaft for a Bronco II recently.
