How am I going to figure out why the headlights don't go out when I turn the key off. I just hate electrical stuff.

Only cars that had an Ignition switch plug with wires like this:

Headlight turn-off. I doubt that yours has this "later" feature.

thanks to Speedy Jim, I figured out the wires. the headlights now go off with the key, a nice feature , I'm amazed more cars don't offer that. Here on the foggy coast we run with the lights on a lot. It's the law on a dangerous part of the hi-way. and when the wiper are on. On my '62 Cab. I added a relay from Radio Shack to do the trick. It still works after some years. Nice feature.
