Maybe, since Daewoo had financial difficulties a few years ago. I just thought it was odd they would rebrand them as Chevrolet in the UK since they have never sold cars here before.

Actually, Daewoos masquerading as GMs have been sold in the US -- I had an '89 Pontiac LeMans that was actually a Daewoo with a green card.
also interesting is the fact that GM and Deawoo have been sleeping together for years. If your not familiar with them, Pontiac LeMans was a "body by Deawoo" car............A Total piece of Hooey.
Deawoo sold in The States for a few years then pulled their cars from the market as far as I know...................There are still parts available here, but that's all..................Why anyone would wanna buy a ......................Nevermind. This is just another long thread about nothing If I go there.
Just thought I'd add to the Hoooey.

A bunch if the new cars Chevy sells (in Canada) anyway are Chevy badged Daewoos, they're rebadged somethings anyway.
Looks like Furrin stuff to me........LOL
yeah,........I can imagine those are all possiblities, however the Optra looks like a KIA vehicle .............but one furrin car looks much like another till you pay a hefty price for them,...............then they start to have a decent appearance.

I'm pretty sure GM has a fair share in KIA too.
What doesn't GM own a part of ;^P
Here's a couple Daewoo's I'd love to have:
