Excellent. I remember a trip up the M1 in one of these 15 years ago. I was a passenger & the pistons got bored of up & down, so left their confines & spread themselves all over the road ! Plenty of oil smoke & what have you. Never believed I could get out of that racing harness so quick...

Your too bloody quick for a Monday morning.

Ricer = Cruiser / Nova with plastic bits on that play in car parks at the weekends..

Ricer is something we have even in America. They take a Japanese car, usually a smaller one, change the taillights out to clear, and put an exhaust the size of a 3 lb coffee can on it. Also a spoiler on the back that makes the thing look like an overgrown shopping cart. That's the "Rice Boy" look. Doesn't necessarily make the performance any better.

Exactly - your Transam is the total opposite of one of those things, hence anti-ricer, ricer-not or -ricer. :)

I just rechecked your ebay purchase: this thing comes with a regular cassette! I remember that quite a few cars still had 8track back then and assumed yours did as well.

Very cool car, Rich! Bet you can't wait to blow the spiders out of the exhaust, huh? :)

Btw, Ricer is not meant to be any kind of racial slur - Just a US slang term for a car. All our daily drivers are Japanese (Accura, Honda, Nissan, Subaru) so I guess I even like them.

I think Richard Simmons drives something similar...

I did wonder whether it was a 'Made in the USA' thing !

going over to pay the deposit on it tonight and see if it can be driven home or if I need to get it trailerd. I think it will depend on where the crack is in the windscreen (if I am likley to get pulled over for it ! ) Also to fill my camper up with all the spares that come with it .

Yep - Can't wait !!!!

Yeah, it might be it eventho I don't flow in that direction. I just adopted whatever everyone else seems to call them.

Hey, I usually do. Especially when I pass them in my 95 Previa L/E SC. Nothing helps performance like adding some real performance parts like a supercharger . . . The rice-boys are usually posers at least around here.
