As far as I know, the TE3x's came with the 1.6 in America (2T-C, the 1.4 would have been the original T engine.) My dad had a TE31 (77) and I later owned a KE30 (1.2 liter, the follow on to the 1.1 liter engine.)

My country always got the pick of the litter....box. The "cheap end" models. Smaller engine due to tax reasons etc..
