Vacation's over......back to RAMVA and no life again?

...........Well, we just got home from nearly two weeks of tent camping on a small island on Lake George in the Adirondaks of NY. Horton has been sitting in the garage for two weeks but not for much longer! It's good to get away from television, desktops, automobiles, etc. once in a while. Hiked up a nearby peak and did a lot of water skiing, canoeing, sitting by a campfire at night, drinking several bottles of Corona every night and then sleeping undisturbed without hearing teenagers coming and going all night long...........sigh.

..............I see that I've got 1420 unread messages here and I guess that means that you guys have been busy. If I see any flamorama threads, maybe I'll try to not read them............heh heh......yeah right.

...................Thanks Scott. It is really nice up there at Lake George. We've been going there for a couple of weeks for several years now. If you're interested in American history, Fort Ticonderoga is near the northern tip of the lake (there's a narrow, mountainous area there between Lake Champlain and Lake George). Also, the battlefield at Saratoga is nearby. Saratoga was the first major battle that resulted in a clear victory for our nation against the British. You southerners might interested to know that the thousands of British soldiers that were taken prisoner at Saratoga were marched all the way to Virginia where they could be securely held until the end of the American Revolution. The scenery in that part of the Adirondaks is wonderful with mountains towering over one of the clearest and cleanest large lakes (thirty miles long) that I've ever seen. The towns and villages in that area were mostly founded during the 1700's and have a lot of beauty and character.

..................I actually have a lot of digital pics using up the space on my wife's pc. Not just of this last trip but of a lot of other things & people over the past few years. I've been able to email these pics, one at a time, whenever someone was interested but I'm too much of a computer doofus and too lazy to figure out some way of putting up a site somewhere. My oldest kid is a CS major in college so I could get him to start a site but it would also have to be real 'user friendly' for me to not be bothering him all the time thereafter. Got any suggestions Travis?

....................It was great but there was three or four days of rain and more humidity than normal during my two weeks up there. This summer has been a lot wetter than usual up here. I'd go swimming off of the dock at the campsite whenever I needed 'cooling off'.
